DyoDelta Biosciences in association with Sachs Associates presented the 2007 Life Science Innovation Awards at the European Life Science CEO Forum for Investing & Partnering in Biotech, Medtech, Speciality Pharma & Emerging Markets , held in Zurich in April 2008.  The event focused on growth companies and new business champions in the sector with participation from industry leaders.  The forum featured discussion panels, biotech company presentation and partnering presentations headed by senior Big Pharma representatives, highlighting current and future strategic trends.

2007 Partnering Deal of the Year Award

The winner of the Partnering deal of the Year for 2007 was Morphosys with its deal with Novartis -  one of the largest ever R&D deals.  $600m COMMITTED payments; total potential over $1bn (plus royalties).  The nominees were: Ablynx, Morphosys, Antisoma and Oxford Biomedica.

2007 Financing of the Year Award

The winner of the Financing of the Year for 2007 was EUSA Pharma, with a $175m venture capital raised from syndicate of investors, the largest ever European pharmaceutical fund raise.  The nominees were:  EUSA, Addex Pharmaceuticals and Noxxon.

2007 Investor of the Year Award

The winners of the Investor of the Year for 2007 were jointly Abingworth, having raised £300 million ($587 million) in 2007 - largest venture fund dedicated to life sciences raised by a firm based in Europe and GLSV being one of the youngest (10 years old) European firms with a very good track record.  The nominees were:  Abingworth, Atlas and GLSV. .

2007 Pharma "Partner of Choice"of the Year Award

The winner of the Pharma partner of choice of the year for 2007 was GlaxoSmithKline. In 2007, GSK executed 6 deals in late-stage clinical development and 5 wide-scope external development collaborations.  GSK has been creative in putting together new deal structures.  More than 85% of the products resulting from past in-licensing deals are still in active development, and the vast majority of them have progressed at least 1 or more development stages, 11 are in the market.  The nominees were:  GSK, Pfizer, Novartis and UCB .
